Building a Bright Future: Scholarship programs
Sien Lok Society is dedicated to helping people make their dreams come true with the assistance in the form of various scholarship programs in Calgary. Over the course of one school year, the Sien Lok Society of Calgary gives out 16 scholarships. In 2020, we gave scholarships to Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, Chinese Academy, Bow Valley College, and Mount Royal University.
You can check the eligibility criteria and apply for the scholarship program that fits you best. We offer many scholarships in a year. Below you will find a list of the different scholarships and the winners of the past years.
Bow Valley College
Value: $1,000.00
Eligibility: A student in any career certificate or diploma program.
Criteria:

Value: $1,000.00
Eligibility: Full-time student enrolled in any program

Chinese Academy
Value: Twelve Bursaries $1,000.00
Eligibility: Any students enrolled during a school year.

Message from recipient:
“I am so excited to be a recipient of the Sien Lok Society of Calgary career program award. I just want to say a big thank you for establishing such an award in Bow College. I am in the Practical Nurse program and so excited to soon be a nurse and make a difference in people’s life and the world at large. My future goals are to be a great nurse and to acquire more skills and education to be a Nurse educator. I am from West Africa (Cameroon). I am a Single mother with an awesome 4 year old that gives me hope every day, writing this letter even bring tears into my eyes because of how she has motivated me to work hard and be where I am today. I could not have preferred anywhere else to pursue my career than Bow Valley College because of all the support you give me. I will forever remain grateful even after graduating from the college.
